In February 2024, our current Senior Pastor and church Elders announced to the church that a Senior Pastor Succession Planning Process had begun. The first step in the process was the appointment of the Pastor Search Team by the Elders. The five-member Pastor Search Team was introduced to the church in March 2024. The following timeline shows various milestones applicable to calling our new Senior Pastor and where the Team is in the process.

In the 10 months since the team began we have accomplished much. Hiring is not a frequent activity for Lifepointe, so we had to start with the basics.
For those who have seen the timeline on the website you know that we have been in the interview phase.
Since we posted the job in June we have accomplished the following:
We reviewed 61 submissions, researched and reviewed each candidates
We narrowed the field and conducted 12 video interviews, and follow-up questions
I want to pause here to add some context related to the time and effort invested by the pastor search team members.
For every submission, each team member has to review the cover letter and resume, do online research of their employment history, church beliefs, and references, find sermon recordings and then invest hours listening to the recordings in order to assess their skills and doctrine.
Next we meet as a team to compare notes and determine if the candidate should be invited to an interview. Each of these team meetings lasts about 1-½ to 2 hours and each candidate video conference interview requires a similar time commitment.
All of these efforts and meetings had to be added into their schedules along with obligations for work, family, Life Groups and the holidays.
At this time, we have selected a handful of candidates that we will engage in a second round of in-person interviews over the next few weeks.
If we successfully identify a candidate these will be the next steps:
The team will present a candidate to the elders and they will review the candidate.
Once a favorable candidate is selected, he will be introduced to the congregation. You will have an opportunity to meet and hear from the candidate and his family prior to the congregational vote to call the pastor.
They must receive a 75% affirmative vote from members of the congregation per our bylaws
Please continue to pray for the candidates and the search team also asks for your prayers. It is an honor to serve the members of Lifepointe Church on this assignment, and we appreciate your support.
Thank you.
